Sport Makers and raise funds for your club

Sport Makers is an opportunity to recruit and inspire new volunteers, and make some money for your club at the same time. As part of the London 2012 legacy programme we are looking for a number of sports clubs to host a Sport Makers workshop. If you have a clubhouse or other suitable venue where we could hold a two hour workshop for at least 20 people then you could be part of this.
What your club will get out of a Sport Makers workshop
- An inspirational workshop linking your club and volunteers to the 2012 Olympics
- Use Sport Makers to recruit and develop new volunteers
- Everyone who attends will receive an Adidas polo shirt and gym bag
- Everyone who makes 10 hours of sport happen will be entered into a draw for Olympic tickets
- For every person who registers and attends the workshop we will pay your club £5
What your club will have to do
- Provide a suitable venue for the Sport Makers workshop
- Ensure at least 20 people register and attend the workshop
- Register your club as a Sport Makers provider including at least one volunteer placement
- Support your Sport Makers to complete 10 hours of volunteering
What to do next
- Contact Rory Marsden at the GreaterSport office who will visit your club to arrange the details
- Register and book 20 people onto your workshop
- Host the Sport Makers workshop
- Volunteers complete 10 hours
- Receive funding based on number of attendees
A home Olympics is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Our aim is to use the 2012 games to inspire a whole generation to make sport and physical activity part of their lifestyle.
